FYI, strangely ants don’t go near the white sugar that’s made in Canada & sold in Walmart. I mean the one we use daily. We have tested it. I think they can smell the chemicals in it. They love to eat honey . The most they liked was the Made in India Jaggery (made from sugar cane). Again, they will not eat brown sugar either.

Except now you have this ugly cup full of dead flies that need to be discarded. Can you just pour that into the compost as well and them decompose? Will it stop them from coming back or do I need to keep a mixture next to the compost at all times?

I had the same idea... My new coat has buttons that pop open too easily. But they are 25mm (1 inch), and when looking to buy bigger sizes, there just isn't a lot available at all. Then, to make it more difficult, I don't want just any boring looking buttons (even though that's what the original buttons are like), I want something pretty, something that will work with the colour, but well also stands out. But I don't want to spend a fortune...

Why DIY if you’re just going to use hair conditioner that has a bunch of chemicals? Also, definitely need distilled water, not tap.

Im a stay at home mom to 6, we are on one income and we are trying to save money anywhere we can. I love this because I can get cheap hair conditioner at the dollar tree for only $1.25. So this is a very affordable solution! :)

I have a mini backpack and the zipper splits open. I'll definitely try the plier method. I really hope it works! The zipper just doesn't close the backpack and it splits. I really hope it helps!

I don't like the idea of buying hair conditioner in a plastic bottle and then rebranding as laundry conditioner...sorry.

I've recently been using this method of homemade fabric softener because i wanted to save money especially on a part-time job. I save 1 cup of water from the 6 cups to use in the conditioner after squeezing most of it out first. It's just to rinse out the bottle for the recipe and not waste any conditioner. Then i add the vinegar slowly, which i used 4 cups of it. No vinegar smell at all, especially with the conditioner and it made it smell better. I agree with the concern of chemicals in cheap conditioner, but I'm on a budget and wanna find ways to save money. My mom and I do laundry 2-3 times a week. And we are surprised with the results each time. I really recommend this recipe!
